I usually don't like to write about the lives of celebrities, but this is a subject I find very VERY interesting and at the same time very confusing. Thanks to my fellow neighbor for bringing this to my attention (you know who you are). So everyone knows T.I. was caught with machine guns and silencers back in October of 2007. For those of you who don't know T.I. is a convicted felon and it is against the law for convicted felons to be in possession of any type of firearm or firearm accessories. That's automatic prison time. MAJOR prison time. My man T.I. has previously been arrested 30+ times and convicted on I don't know how many felonies. So why is it that he only served 2 months in the federal penitentiary? Now Michael Vick was busted for dog fighting which is also a felony. Vick, who has no priors, served 2 years for the crime. Am I the only one who sees something completely wrong and bogus about this picture? Don't get me wrong. I'm not condoning the dog fighting nor the purchasing of guns and silencers, but how does a convicted felon get off with serving 2 months? I'm happy that Tip was able to return home to his family. I wouldn't wish jail on anybody. But like the old saying goes if you do the crime you do the time. So why isn't T.I. still in prison? Keep it real now family. If it were you, convicted felon or not, and you were caught buying machine guns and silencers where would you be? Your butt would be in prison and you know it!!! So why is it that T.I. was able to get off so easily? I feel if Mike had to serve 2 years for dog fighting then Tip should have had to serve a much harder sentence than 2 months. What kind of message is that sending to our young boys and young men? What it's saying is that you can commit a crime, but because you have celeb status you can get off much easier than the average person. For those of you who think I'm hating, WHO CARES!!!! My concern is the message being sent to our younger generation who are already highly corrupted. So why do most celebrities get off so easily when they've committed a crime?

TI should not get a minute in jail or prison. His best friend died in his arms from a bullet that was meant for him. Do you understand what that did to his psyche? It made him paranoid, looking over his shoulder everyday all day, how can anyone function like that? So that's why he went out and try to get some added protection. He wasn't trying to kill anyone, he was trying to protect himself, his family and the rest of his friends. He is a very upstanding young man in the society, even the judge presiding over his case acknowledged that. TI is a rapper, an actor, and an upstanding citizen in this society, forget about all that felon nonsense.

Michael Vick should not spend a day in jail because that was his first offence, he should get probation and some community service. I don't know why Lyrical Beauty is hating on TI, that's the problem with some of us; we have a tendency to prey on each other instead of loving and understanding each other. Stop being a vampire.

There should be no message sent to the children or youth on either count. The message shouldn't be, "ok kids, kill some dogs versus buying illegal weapons". The message should be, "stay your lil' asses away from the court system cause you may get the long stick or the short one. Roll the dice and see". We are too involved in the old, "he did dirt too, so why didn't he get a spanking like mines?" Cause his daddy saw more in him then your daddy saw in you, point blank.

Just like when you were growing up, some times brothers and sisters weren't punished equally. Your sister was forced to clean the house while you got the extension cord.

The judge that Vick had was clearly a dog lover and was influenced by the thoughts of the humane society and all the so called "dogs are more important than people" lifestyle. T.I. on the other hand had a judge that saw his influence on a whole range of youths across the whole U.S. How can they take advantage of that? Yes, he had a bad past (not as bad as the priors posted), but he has grown as a man, especially since the incident. I watched his show and saw the things he did and the lives he influenced and I started feeling dudes sincerity.

I wish he did get only a few months, but he got a year. I also feel like Vick was punished too hard for his incident, but he shouldn't have lied about it. Maybe he would have had less time. Regardless, if two men did dirt and one got lesser time, I won't hate. I'd be glad that at least one of them aren't stuck behind those walls like animals for long.

We worry about the wrong things when it comes to people. We aren't happy that one caught a break, we are mad because we want him to do some time. That's crazy. With that anger comes the rumors i'm sure. So I guess Mike Vick will be the ultimate cool thug for doing time and T.I. will be considered a snitch for catching a break? Hmmmm.... I guess we can never be happy unless it's one of us getting a break when someone else got baseball numbers...

What we should be mad at is cops killing innocent people and doing less time than Vick or T.i.... I'll let it go though. We have a long way to go.

Very well put, Nada! Here is the reality of Law and Order in this generation. The more public obsession with a high profile case, the higher the chances that all logic and proper procedure go out of the window. We live in an age where so called 'judges' now look for the celebrity spotlight when overseeing a case. So called 'jurors' are more concerned with securing a tell all book deal than being adequate dispensers of a mans justice. The legal system is a pure joke!
As far as M.Vick and T.I go, its just another example of what being accepted by the media will grant you. In the case of t.i, you are looking at an artist that was accepted by mainstream media. A classy, sharp community orientated individual <(by rapper standards) a great interview, articulate and thus accepted as a 'descent reformed young man who made a mistake'. In the case of M.Vick, we have a rough around the edges, baggy pants wearing, urban enthusiast who was very standoffish with the local media, and unapologetic for his crew and mentality. When the media dislikes you, THEY ASSIST IN UR CONVICTION! I'm a TI fan, but as you queens stated(as i paraphrase) HOW IN THE FUK DOES A FELON GET OFF WITH THIS SERIOUS INFRACTION AND A NON FELON BURN?!!!! Big up toTip for having a strong legal team and having the common sense to go public with charitable work and immediate admittance of wrong doing(unlike Vick)
Nowadays, with all of the celebrity nut sack riding in the media and public, juries go into deliberation not to balance right vs Wrong, but to determine what will be the most popular desicion amongst the public! Should Vick have gotten time?HELL YES!!! He was an idiot for putting his empire at risk for the sake of keeping it real! We see how real his homies kept it when they ratted him out, right?
Like Nada said...people are more concerned with the safety of a fukin dog than they are a human!
And let us never forget what race and backround plays into the legal system! Just like O.J(whose also an idiot) certain portions of white america would not have rested until M.Vick got his medicine! Does anyone remember the rampant celebrations when oj finally got jail time, more than a decade after he was found innocent of hacking nichole simpson? Do we really think that those celebrations were for the actual conviction of menacing and kidnapping? lol!!! Still to this day, a black man will never be innocent until proven guilty or let off of the hook by a jury! John Gotti, a drug dealer, murderer, extortionist and tax evader was made into a celebrity and congratulated every time he was found innocent by a scared or purchased out jury! Oj simpson, on the other hand, was hunted and crucified for being found innocent
At the end of the day, Both Ti and Vick did the crimes and deserved the time, but let us never forget what fair and balanced law is nowadays........nothing but shit.
With that being said, BIG UP TO TIP FOR BEING A REAL CAT AND MAKING NO EXCUSES FOR FOR YOUR MISHAPS! Im not much of a 'star' follower, but i can say that dude is actually a goodhearted, intelligent, self accountable guy. Big up to M.VICK for coming home! Stay away from your so-called 'homies', mike! You were nothing but a meal ticket for those pu**ies! Get back in the league and stay straight, mannnnnnnn!!!!! Hold ya head up thru these times and push forward!

ONE LOVE,
MOODY.

Actually TI hasn't served his time yet. His prison sentence starts May 26th. He was sentenced to one year and one day in prison. Before he leaves for prison he will have been on house arrest for 305 days. Well the judge decided to let those 305 days count toward his prison sentence which will leave him only 61 days to serve in prison for buying machine guns and silencers. Note while he is on house arrest he is still able to go to the studio and all over the country as long as it is "business related". I am a huge TI fan but I am also a fan of fairness and I think our "justice" system is unfair. I think it is safe to say that machine guns and silencers are bought with the intent to kill (we will say for the sake of argument self defence). Therefore I think is unfair for a man to serve 2 years in prison for dog fighting with no priors but someone buying machine guns and silencers only serve 2 months in confinement. However, I do not think this has as much to do with celebrity status as much as it does people putting the life of a dog over the life of a human. The young man in New York, Michael Bail is his name (I think... don't quote me) was beaten by police and the police served no prison time, but dog fighting lands you 2 years in prison. That is a real problem. Please note the NFL is still trying to decide whether they are going to let Michael Vick play professional football again. Yet TI gets to travel for business while on house arrest. Why is this? Because TI did not fight any dogs. It really angers me how society place the life of animals over the life of humans. Please know I love TI's music and he does a lot to help society and I am glad that has been given another chance. I just want America to have a "real" justice system.

SPOTTED: Nas OUT & ABOUT In West Hollywood

Nasty Nas is in L.A. wrapping up his upcoming Life Is Good album (dropping 7/17).  And he was spotted out and about in West Hollywood yesterday with Capricorn Clark--Bad Boy's Marketing Exec.  We're not sure what's going on there--but we're sure they'll maintain they're friends and/or just working together.  Pics inside...

After grabbing lunch in his bright green Adidas track suit and Jordans, Nas hit the streets of West Hollywood to likely head to the studio:

It's been a big week for the sexy Mr. Jones as he dropped his brand new "Daughters" video featuring his own little girl Destiny.  And he just revealed that he will be unveiling his brand new website and upcoming tour dates tomorrow.

About the meaning of his new album's Life Is Good title, Nas told Complex magazine this month it's all about getting to a point where you master your own life, and not letting thieves and money bring you down:

I never liked dealing with money. It comes between real shit. Friendship, loyalty, and love is the real shit. Money is the other shit. I have one way of dealing with money, and then you have educated people, who know how to deal with money, and we have conflicts there. It’s like in the movie Wall Street, my man Gekko says, “Pay attention. Money’s a jealous bitch. Either you’re going to pay attention to her, or she’ll find someone else that will.” And mine has definitely found other people who appreciate her more. [Laughs.] I’ve neglected her and abused her. I let a person take her from me—and I don’t mean my ex-wife, I mean some bad business from, like, six years ago that’s affecting me now. And I take responsibility for it, because it’s my problem. But I still see that as something I have to fix, because if you don’t fix money, it’ll fix your ass.

Check out more highlights and pics from his new Complex spread HERE in case you missed it.

She's already got Clint Eastwood's A Star Is Born leading role in her back pocket, now, Mrs. Knowles Carter has been named as one of the voices for the animated flick Epic.  The 3D CG movie is from the makers of the big budget films Ice Age & Rio.

Beyonce will voice the character Queen Tara, and plenty of other celebs are rounding out the cast: Colin Farrell as Ronin, The Hunger Games‘ Josh Hutcherson as Nod, Amanda Seyfried as Mary Katherine, Johnny Knoxville as Mandrake, Aziz Ansari as Mub, rapper Pitbull as Bufo, Jason Sudeikis as Bomba, and Steven Tyler as Nim Galuu.

According to Deadline:

The film is described as a battle deep in the forest between the forces of good and evil. When a teenaged girl finds herself magically transported into this secret universe, she must band together with a rag-tag team of fun and whimsical characters to save that world, which in turn saves the real world.

Epic will be released May 24, 2013.

And if you were wondering who was looking after almost 5-month-old Baby B.I.C. up in Revel's Penthouse while Mama Bey was downstairs shutting down the stage--it was her Destiny's Child besties Kelly Rowland & Michelle Williams.

TMZ caught up with Michelle last night and they report:

Last night in NYC, Michelle revealed Kelly Rowland also pulled a shift watching B.I. in Beyonce's hotel suite ... during B's concert in Atlantic City last weekend.

In the middle of the show, Beyonce thanked Michelle for babysitting -- but Michelle 'fessed up to us she had some help ... and even got to go downstairs to see some of the show.

Cute!

Beyonce also posted the whole fashion run down for herself and everyone else from the 4 nights of Memorial Day performances.  Check it below (l-r):

Ralph and Russo, The Blondes, David Koma, Tina Knowles for House of Deréon Couture, (again) Tina Knowles for House of Deréon Couture and (again) Ralph and Russo.  She rocked Stuart Weitzman shoes with each look.
